Moon

A fully-symmetrical Moon map? Yes, please! The Moon is a well-balanced platform for pilots to show off their skills with a multitude of units while negating snipers to the backburner. This is also perhaps the best map for requiring teamwork as well.

The multi-layered map has many elevation changes and really only two straight-aways where snipers can even be effective without getting blown out quickly.  Jumping robots, Dash bots and heavy brawlers are the most effective here and make use of plenty of Splash-damage capable rockets and homing missiles for optimum effect in close quarters.

The “C” Central Beacon can be won from either below the center tower or above in an enclosed bridge. This is the essence of Moon – chaos in close quarters.

Strategy

Most pilots begin the map by either running straight ahead, up a ramp and over into the enemy’s “B” or “D” beacons, or by going towards the “A” or “E” beacons and then onto the center or the corner, depending on enemy movement. Fast bots usually do the latter for 2 quick beacon captures but leave themselves exposed to enemy fire once the corner is capped.

Due to the small size of this map, beacon captures are fluid and are hard to hold for any real prolonged period of time (save an obvious blowout). Successful pilots usually stay bunched together in groups of 2 or 3, and capture together.

Corner beacons have barriers which are useful for taking cover but only for a short period of time. It is easy to rush an enemy here. Homing missile weapons such as Hydra and Aphid are especially annoying/useful on this map.
