Springfield

Springfield is a massive map with quite a bit of everything for everyone and split into three main sections: an elevated city-sized port is perfect for knife-fighting close-quarter brawlers, an open, lowered middle section of the map is a sniper’s playground and a hilly terrain third is a mix of both but so large you’ll need a shield of some sort to safely navigate it. Or great teammates!

All the beacons in the map are fortified with one type of cover or another, so you’ll have to actually make good use of teammates here in order to be successful. Weapons of all shapes and sizes are comfortable on this map, while snipers obviously opt for long-range Trebuchets and Gekkos and brawlers opt for the regular Death Button/Carnage Thunder/Ancilot/etc. heavy bots. Dash bots absolutely crush this map and well-played Stalkers with Stealth can also have a big effect.

Strategy

One of the best strategies to use on Springfield is half attacking and half covering. That means a few smaller, quicker bots head out for beacons while the rest stay at a mid-far range and provide cover fire in the form of Trebuchets, Tempests and/or Gekkos. When in the elevated port area, use cover and time your runs on the enemies’ reload time. Stay clear of bored snipers shooting from the open fields. Also make sure to utilize the built-in cover of the beacons. When in the middle or hilly terrain, keep covered at all times and come out only for a quick sprint or to snipe your enemies. As the terrain is wide open, it’s important to gain your side’s beacon from the off and make a run on the middle beacon. This is especially useful in Beacon Rush game mode.

Another important note: When spawning near the elevated “C” Beacon – you are close to the range of the enemy spawn point for Trebuchets to hit you. Get to cover fast!
