Game Description:

Equipped with a jump drive that allows the robot to leap into the air and close in on enemies when necessary.

The Griffin is widely-considered the best bot you can purchase value for money. Costing 1.7m Silver, two light hardpoints coupled with two medium hardpoints and a Jump drive make this the ultimate versatility-minded bot out there.

Able to do serious damage from the lowest tier to almost the highest, the Griffin is only outdone past Masters’ League. Once leveled up, pilots can jump into battle (300m and in range) and unleash hell in the form of the Death Button setup – a term given to just pressing the Red firing button and unleashing all your ammo – a pair of Pinatas matched with a pair of Orkans. Medium-ranged options to counter the DB and other bots at distance comes in the form of the Russian Death Button – a pair of Pins coupled with dual Tulumbas for an effective range of 500m. The Plasma Death Button variety is effective from 350m and pairs twin Magnums with Tarans. While the two former setups destroy unshielded and Physical-Shield equipped bots, the latter is meant to pierce Energy and Ancile shields.

Also useful to capture beacons and quickly evade enemies, the Griffin can leap to great heights and out of harm’s way with ease. A 25-second cooldown period means you’ll have to have patience and strategize for the next great leap. Breaking down this heavy bot’s jump is rather simple – it can go higher and further than both the medium-class Rogatka and the light-class Cossack. With a 6-second flight time factored into its cooldown period, you’ll have to wait a further 19 seconds before popping off again.

Named after the mythical flying eagle/lion hybrid which bares its same name, its only real downsides are the lack of shielding and slow speed when not jumping. Other than that, pilots have been known to run a full hanger of Griffins with each kitted out for various needs and purposes.
