Game Description:

Swift and sturdy, Gareth is well suited for both capturing and defending beacons.

The Gareth is the light robot entry in the Knights’/British Armed Forces chain of Gareth-GalahadLancelot. That doesn’t mean this nifty bot can’t hang with the big boys and more than carry its weight into the highest of tiers. Considerable speed, moderate firepower and a deployable physical shield means that it can hold its own against the more powerful Carnage and Plasma Death Button setups on the Griffin and Rhino. Fujin’s with triple Tarans have even been taken down by quick-thinking and fast-moving pilots in a Gareth.

As a physical shield wielding bot, it is still very susceptible to conventional Death Button (Pinatas/Orkans) and Russian Death Button (Pins/Tulumbas) Griffins and Rhinos. Snipers wielding projectile weapons like Tridents/Nashorn/Kang Dae can do major damage to the Gareth.

When deploying the physical shield, speed drops by -20% which is well worth it when considering the damage you’ll be avoiding. And with the amount of “new” Energy/Plasma weapons currently being used at higher tiers, such as Scourge, Shocktrain, etc.) Gareth maintains its value for some time as a beacon capper. It can also best the Stalker in one-on-one combat due to its short stature and the Stalker usually sporting Magnums.

Best practices for Gareth? Cap beacons and flank your enemies. Those who master this strategy will shoot up the tiers rapidly. Just toss on a Magnum/Taran or Pinata/Orkan and start handling the business.

Gareth is named after one of King Arthur’s Knights’ of the Round Table, Sir Gareth Beaumains, as are all the Knights’ bots (Lancelot and Galahad).
