Game Description:

Heavy medium-range missile system. Missiles overcome most obstacles and are effective against even fast, maneuverable enemies.

Completing the SpiralHydra-Chimera Chain as the heavy hardpoint weapon, Chimera is a camper’s tactical player’s wet dream. Sure to annoy enemies from 600m, Chimera placed upon a shielded bot like Carnage or Bulwark, can last a hot minute in combat. On Rajin with it’s damage boost, Chimera can sit all game long raining down homing-missile havoc on its foes. On the new Weyland, it allow’s the bot to be a mobile medic base while racking up the damage. This is either the weapon you’ve been waiting for, or dreading.

At higher levels, it is a homing missile launcher made for wearing enemies down from the safety of low cover and the aforementioned 600 meters range. Lock-on targeting, in other words, makes it more effective than other long-range weapons.

So just how effective is Chimera? Well, Spiral at level 12: 7,710 damage. Hydra at level 12: 15,720 damage. Chimera at level 12: 29,250 damage. Psh…. this means that any pilot hanging back at their base on maps such as Moon, Carrier or Rome, will be easy pickings for this powerhouse from the start. If a pair or three are firing away on maps such as Springfield or Canyon… don’t even think about it!

According to Wikipedia, the Chimera “she-goat” was, according to Greek mythology, a “monstrous fire-breathing hybrid creature of Lycia in Asia Minor, composed of the parts of more than one animal.” So, an amalgamation of things apparently. MK2 Levels 1-12 cost the same in terms of time and currency. A 20% damage bonus is added per missile/plasma blast depending on the weapon along with “added durability.”
