Game Description:

Thunder is a firearm. One of the most effective weapons at short range. What it lacks in accuracy it more than makes up for in firepower. Reloads while firing.

“Pow! Right in the kisser!” That’s the Thunder, a short-range punch-in-the-face Heavy-hardpoint weapon which is incredibly powerful at distances under 200m. The ultimate close-range combat shotgun, it unleashes five shells of destructive force and doesn’t require an immediate reload time, just a delayed shooting mechanism after the initial five rounds have been expended.

You might be wondering what’s up with the maximum range listed above… that’s because the bullet spread can hit enemy bots over 200m, up to 500m, with severely-reduced damage. This is mostly useful for doing damage to Energy and Ancile shields and polishing off an enemy bots with just a smidge of health left.

At low tiers, the Boa with Thunder and Orkan can do significant damage as can the Vityaz with Pinata or Magnum, while moving up the tiers sees the Carnage with dual Thunder deal serious hit-and-run damage. The emergence of new Plasma/Energy weapons such as Shocktrain, Scourge, et al. have severely crippled the Carnage’s effectiveness with Thunder as it is hard to get in close. Leo can still handle a Thunder with Magnums or Pinatas while the Lancelot, with Thunder and dual Orkans/Tarans, is a force to be reckoned with. Just watch out for enemy rockets and missiles!
